Raise a glass to some fab Lancashire & London folk.

Given recent atrocities like the Ariana Grande Concert & London attacks, plus the Grenfell disaster, I struggled to promote my fundraising efforts at times; when so much is happening on our own doorstep how can we encourage people to give to orphans abroad?! (…The phrase ‘Charity Starts at Home‘ was mentioned a few times; something I do acknowledge and respect…)

That said, dozens have donated or helped with activities to support the charity I’ll be working with in India this month. I know not everyone has pennies in their pockets so I appreciate the hands on assistance offered by individuals too! Thank you also to those who were unable to donate, or attend our activities, but who shared our events or the fundraising page… Every little helps, and every little action has been massively appreciated!

I wanted to use this post as a chance to offer a genuine and lasting THANK YOU to all those who have supported me / the Big Preston Raffle – you can click through to my Just Giving page to see the relevant updates during the last few months of fundraising & you can learn more about the small UK-based charity here.

Can I still donate?

YEP, there is still time 🙂 SMS & Just Giving donations go direct to the charity, even once I’ve returned; the more we can spend on the kids/orphanage in India the better right? Click through here or text LYFE89 £5 to 70070 for a fiver to come off your phone bill.

Email me:

  • if you plan to donate & quite fancy a mention included above

  • if you feature but would rather your name be edited / removed

About the author

Andy promised to do something creative after a friend died in 2014; a creative writing tutor, an incredible inspiration. This blog came before his business, Global Amigos; although both exist to (hopefully) inspire. There’s no marketing gobble-de-gook; it’s a personal space for Andy to capture & share his personal opinion about life experiences – and to open up about matters close to him.
